Baby Botox or Micro Botox

Baby Botox or Micro Botox - Studio Aesthetica

If you are on our page it’s safe to assume that you have heard of anti-wrinkle treatments or Botox, but have you heard of the latest trend dubbed as ‘baby Botox’? I’ll explain all the details below.

Firstly, lets rule out some misconceptions, it doesn’t involve any small children getting Botox and it isn’t a different version of the products that are already being used. The term ‘baby’ comes from small doses of product being used rather than the standard dosing. It also encompasses all brands of anti-wrinkle products, not just Botox.

For clients that don’t want that frozen, overdone look and are seeking something more natural, baby botox could be the treatment for you. By lowering the dose of ant-wrinkle administered, there will be a softening of the wrinkles rather than taking them all away entirely.

Prevention is key

Baby Botox can be used as a preventative measure. As our facial expressions are responsible for causing our wrinkles. As we age, our collagen and elastin breaks down and our skin doesn’t bounce back into place as it once used to. We are left with permanent creases into our skin. Therefore, with Baby Botox, you can prevent those lines from forming, or at least stop them getting worse.

Baby Botox or regular?

This depends on the depth of the wrinkles you do have, and of course the results you want to achieve! Baby Botox works best for fine lines and wrinkles, so generally younger people who want to prevent frown lines and crow’s feet and maintain a smooth, youthful appearance.

If you have deeper lines and folds and are wanting no movement following your anti-wrinkle appointment, baby botox may not be the treatment for you.

It’s also important to be mindful that having a more natural look will mean that there will be a degree of wrinkle showing. If you are seeking an entirely smooth appearance, baby Botox may not be for you.

If you have baby Botox and aren’t pleased with the results, you can come back into the clinic and have further treatment to ‘top up’

How long does it last?

Baby Botox doesn’t last as long as the regular dose treatments. Baby Botox lasts anywhere from 1-2 months, with regular dosing lasting for 3-4 months. To maintain your results with baby Botox, you will need to come back more regularly for treatments.

If you are new to the world of injectables, and anti-wrinkle treatment is something that you have been considering, baby botox could be the perfect treatment for you. It can soften the areas of concern and be a preview for a full dose. It will also wear off faster than a full dose if you are unhappy with it.
