  • You will start to see results after several weeks as the skin repairs gradually. Results will show optimally at around the three month mark as your collagen remodelling increases over time. After your initial course of treatments, we would recommend yearly maintenance of 1-2 sessions to maintain your results.

  • The actual treatment takes around 30 minutes. A consultation should be done prior to commencing treatment.

  • The microchannels in the skin created during treatment stay open for 4-6 hours and so we recommend avoiding exercise during this period. Some patients experience mild-moderate redness, mild swelling, and minimal skin sensitivity after Microneedling that will usually subside in the hours following your session, sometimes lasting up to a day or two. You can wear makeup the following day, with mineral makeup being the preferred option. It is important to use gentle and hydrating skincare products post-treatment, as well as Broad Spectrum SPF daily.

  • We recommend a series of three treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. Of course, depending on your skin and desired results your practitioner at Studio Aesthetica will tailor a treatment plan to you. The collagen synthesis process will increase over time and with more sessions.

  • We find our patients describe treatment as comfortable to virtually pain-free. If you prefer, you can apply your own over-the-counter numbing cream 30 minutes prior to your appointment.

  • It is recommended to do the following prior to having a Microneedling treatment:

    1. Avoid sun exposure for 2-3 weeks prior

    1. Do not have any chemical peels or exfoliating treatments for 4 weeks prior

    2. Do not use any topical AHA, BHA or Retinol products for at least 1 week prior

    3. Do not use any topical prescription strength Retinoid products for 2 weeks prior

    4. Avoid alcohol and smoking the day of your treatment

    5. Avoid hair removal in the treatment area such as waxing or depilatories for 2 weeks prior
