Studio Aesthetica’s bespoke prescription skincare delivers evidence-based ingredients for medical and aesthetic skin concerns. Unlike over-the-counter products, these formulations contain potent, active ingredients that target your unique issues and help you achieve your cosmetic goals.

Skincare is not one-size-fits-all — each person’s skin has unique needs, sensitivities and responses to different products and treatments. With skincare products prescribed by an aesthetic medical doctor, you can maximise results while reducing the risk of irritation or unwanted reactions.

With bespoke skincare, you can build a routine that can help address your skin issues, whether it’s fine lines, redness or blemishes. Active ingredients are prescribed at the optimal strength and combination, with their percentages carefully adjusted throughout each stage of your treatment for the best possible outcomes.

How it works:

Starter Sessions

During your initial in-clinic Starter Session, your doctor will thoroughly assess your skin condition, concerns and personal goals to determine if our bespoke prescription skincare is suitable for you. Potential risks and side effects will be explained in detail, ensuring you have a clear understanding of what to expect.

You will be asked to disclose any known allergies, medical conditions or previous adverse reactions to products or treatments. This information helps us select the most suitable products for your unique needs.

We will also discuss realistic timelines and expected outcomes for your treatment. Since every individual’s skin is unique, results may vary depending on factors such as your lifestyle habits and environmental exposure.

If you are suitable for prescription skincare, we will prepare and fill your prescription, which will be shipped to your nominated address. You will also receive a Skincare Support Pack and three months of email support for ongoing guidance.

You will require three to four Starter Sessions at three-month intervals to adjust and refine your prescription before transitioning to “Maintenance Management”.

Maintenance

Up to four repeat prescriptions can be supplied during your 12-month Maintenance Management. An in-clinic review appointment to discuss your progress can be arranged during this time, alongside your ongoing email support.

Adjustments

If your skincare goals or needs change during the 12-month period, you can request a new Starter Session to update your prescription. Additional review appointments can be arranged as needed.

  • OTC skincare items are readily available in pharmacies and retail stores without the need for a prescription. They’re often formulated to address general skin concerns and are suitable for most people. However, they usually contain lower levels of active ingredients and may not be strong enough to treat more serious or persistent skin issues.

On the other hand, bespoke prescription skincare is customised by a medical practitioner to address your specific skin concerns. These products contain higher concentrations of active ingredients and are designed to target issues like severe acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and other complex skin problems.

Unlike OTC products, prescription skincare can be adjusted over time to match your changing skin needs, potentially leading to better and more noticeable results.

  • The timeline for visible results varies according to the treatment type, skin condition and individual response. Some products may require several weeks to months of consistent use to show noticeable improvements. Similarly, some cosmetic treatments may require multiple sessions to achieve optimal results, with gradual enhancements as the skin heals and regenerates.

  • Side effects vary depending on the treatment. Common effects may include redness, swelling, mild irritation or sensitivity, which typically subside within a few days. More intensive treatments can result in peeling, bruising or textural changes as the skin heals. In some cases, though rarely, infections or allergic reactions may occur.

Since everyone’s skin reacts differently, it’s important to monitor the treated area in the first few hours and days after your treatment. Your practitioner will provide aftercare guidance to help manage any reactions and support the healing process.
