Rejuran
Polynucleotides (PNs), like those found in Rejuran, are biomolecules derived from salmon DNA used in aesthetic medicine to improve skin health and appearance. These polynucleotides are highly biocompatible and work by stimulating skin regeneration and repair. Rejuran treatment aids in skin regeneration, hydration, skin tone and texture and promotes wound healing to improve the appearance of scarring from acne, trauma and surgery.
As a result, Rejuran in Sydney is often recommended for those with mild to moderate signs of skin laxity or superficial scarring, as well as those seeking to support skin health and moisture retention.
Rejuran Classic
Rejuran Classic is designed for overall skin rejuvenation. It can soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promote cellular repair and stimulate neocollagenesis — the process of forming new collagen. This can contribute to smoother, firmer skin over time. Rejuran Classic can be administered to treatment areas such as the full face, neck, decolletage and hands.
Rejuran I (Eye)
The periocular region (area around the eyes) is prone to early signs of ageing due to its thin, fragile structure. Rejuran I focuses on revitalising this delicate part and improving skin elasticity and firmness by stimulating collagen synthesis for a more youthful appearance. Rejuran I is suitable for those with fine lines and wrinkles, mild hollowing and dark circles under the eyes.
Rejuran Scar
Scar tissue formation involves complex biological processes. Rejuran Scar encourages neocollagenesis, stimulating collagen production and activating skin-repairing cells (fibroblasts) to help rebuild and regenerate damaged tissue. Rejuran Scar targets the appearance of scars, such as acne, surgical scars or scars from injury/trauma. While not necessarily a replacement for other interventions in more severe cases, Rejuran Scar aims to promote skin healing, reduce the visibility of scarring and improve the texture and colour of scarred areas.
Rejuran skin boosters are suitable for those seeking a natural alternative to more invasive cosmetic treatments and aesthetic surgeries. Rejuran treatment is commonly used to refine skin texture and support the skin’s natural repair processes for overall improvement and rejuvenation.
Rejuran can be used in the following areas:
Face
Under Eyes
Crows feet
Scars - surgical, acne & trauma
Neck
Décolletage
Hands
Rejuran, known as polyneucleotides, is a skin rejuvenation treatment hailing from South Korea. DNA fragments derived from wild salmon aid in skin repair and regeneration. When introduced into the skin, this treatment boosts collagen production to improve elasticity and promote tissue repair deep within the dermal layers.
This advanced treatment addresses a range of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, scars, enlarged pores, tone and texture, leaving you with a revitalised, hydrated and healthy-looking complexion. By stimulating collagen production and restoring the extracellular matrix, Rejuran skin boosters help repair thin, damaged skin resulting from the natural ageing process. It addresses elasticity and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, delivering a firmer, more youthful look.
Note that before Rejuran treatment is administered, an initial consultation is required to determine whether this approach is appropriate for your skin concerns. During your in-person consultation, one of our registered medical practitioners will conduct a thorough facial assessment, review your medical history and learn more about your aesthetic goals before developing a customised plan.
Recovery And Aftercare Requirements
Following Rejuran treatment, you are likely to experience temporary tenderness and small bumps or blebs at the treatment site along with mild erythema, swelling and bruising. Other side effects from Rejuran skin boosters may include:
Minor flaking, dryness and skin peeling that can last for seven to 10 days.
Small scabs may form around the treatment site but should naturally fall off within seven to 10 days if the treatment is administered to the face.
Although uncommon, Petechiae (pinpoint red or purple spots) may occur immediately after the treatment. Those with existing acne may notice that this condition is exacerbated immediately post-treatment.
Although there is minimal downtime post-treatment, you’ll be advised to apply a cold compress to the area to reduce swelling and avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours to minimise risk of infection.
As the skin can be more sensitive and prone to irritation, you should avoid UV exposure and discontinue the use of cosmeceutical skincare products containing active ingredients such as AHAs, BHAs, retinoids, vitamin C and exfoliants for at least seven days. Replace these ingredients or products with a gentle cleanser and moisturiser, and apply SPF 50+ daily.
Expected Outcomes Following Rejuran In Sydney
Depending on your baseline skin condition and treatment plan, Rejuran treatment is typically delivered as a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart to achieve the most favourable outcomes. Maintenance treatments once or twice a year may be recommended based on the significance of your skin concerns and your skin’s response to Rejuran treatment.
